even if it needs the cylinders rebored + piston kit, and steering components? Piston kit looked like $3-350 on ebay, + ~$100 to bore the 3 cylinders + maybe $100 in tie rods or whatever it needs to tighten the steering?
Thx for the reply, i really depend on the internet to be educated!

Id give'em 1300.00, but my intentions would be a FULL rebuild on it asap. Some things need attention other than just the engine
Shocks
primary
secondary
hyfax
skid ie..wheels
Is it studded? Said it was a 99? Id get the crank pins welded as the crank has been loosened up and you go rebuilding just top end it may index on you.

THats short money! Buy it already. Btw. Stay awayfrom ebay chrome moly blah blah blah rebuild kits. Buy oem. You won't bore cylinders they' re nikersiled and should be just fine anyways. Oem parts all the way. Just re cross hatch cylinders to help seat new rings and your in business> Fyi. Steering is always going to have some play in it. the nature of the beast. Now it its all over the place on the trail and you know you'll have some work to do. You can probably make up the differece by adjusting the tierods.
gave him 1300... drove it around the yard
It does have an issue, seems like the powervalves are sticking or something. I hit it for about a second maybe two and let it cost a bit then braked, but during the turn it almost quit and backfired a couple of times every time I tried to give it throttle. I let it idle down and then it drove fine. It did it again, the same way, giving it gas after deceleration
checked the compression, all of them are between 117 and 122. i'll do some searching and reading on this site. Looks like a terrific resource

looks like its been a long time since the powervalves were cleaned. one barrel had pulled through the top of the valve. the cable is all frayed at the end. two of the pipes were full of gas. the carburetors were all shtted up. And i dropped the collar for the powervalve into the bottom of the cowel somewhere. spent the last 3 hours trying to dig it out but no luck.
