clutch in the dish washer

can you put your whole clutch in the dishwasher witout dissassembling it or is it just the shheaves you can do this to

If im correct you can slap the whole thing in... however... its better to take it apart and put it through... dishwasher wont get the major internal parts as good if its all together

Make sure you are not using rinse-aid. It works better to use a hd dishwasher with a stainless steel tank. Be carefull of the soap you use as most of em are high ph & can hurt aluminum.

I have found the best way to clean the accumulated belt dust off of the clutches is to use a hot soap and water solution. I am fortunate to have access to a large hot detergent tank with ultrasonic agitation, the tank is large enough to put a small block chevy in it. We use a strong detergent with water at 160 degrees F. The parts go in filthy and come out bright and shiny, squeaky clean. The dishwasher works very nicely also.

I use the double oven in the kitchen to bake my parts while powder coating (shhhhh, let's keep this quiet!!!) The thanksgiving turkey had a slight metallic blue color to it, tasted fine though.

I convinced the girlfriend that the toaster oven was broke, and that Im going to try and fix it... (The button fell off) LOL. She got tired on waiting for me to fix it and bought a new one. Now I have a great little oven for heating bearings up with a timer. Dont use much space at all. Another handy garage tool.

I like to try the dishwater thing, but if it screws up the machine. Im Dead, and I dont want to buy a new one of those.... I second it. But I dont have enough space for it in the garage if I do break it. lol

In the mean time post a pic up on this form when its all clean. I would like to see how it turned out.

why cant you use rinse aid (jet dry)?
