Jetting questions

Why is the 99 SRX 700 jetting specs different than a 00 up? Is is just because of the plates that were used in the airbox? The newer ignition? I know the 00-up SRX didn't have the small vertical airbox plates.

Reason I ask is because my buddy has a 99 700 and the vertical plates were removed and jetted to a 00 up spec.

lots of changes from 99-00. besides the airbox and magneto as you mentioned, the port timing is different, the ignition timing curve on the cdi was changed, the addition of tps, and the spark timing was different.
