rear phazer shock? or can I release pressure

looking for rear shock for 92 Phazer II
last year I bought a set of gas shocks, but my 90# son cant make the suspension move, even when I jump on it it barely moves
took shock off and the suspension works fine , checked shock and I can compress it by hand,
