OK
1998 SRX 700 still wont run. Idles great but hit the gas and bogs down.
Tach works. Speedo not. Lights on and off.
Pulled the main wire harness and cant find any rub or nicks??? (see pic0
Should I be looking somewhere else?....down by the carbs and silencer?
Another problem?
Thanks

Did you check every inch of every wire, sometimes they can be missed/hard to see, really gotta look.
check under the handle bar pad..thats where i had my problem..was doin the same thing...lights in out...bogging...shes all good now tho..
also look farther up the harness by the coolant hoses behind the brake caliper that is another bad spot

Do you have enough free play in your throttle cable when closed? It could be TORS.

I am a skipping record on this topic... check wire harness above left footwell. I had em all chewed up where the harness does a 180 degree turn into the CDI box. Check all connectors use dialectic grease. Check wires under seat, dry if necessary, and I used shrink tube over this connector b/c water will pool and could create short.

Check the TORS too. Free play on all cables to handlebars.
I thought the 98 had a relay problem too sign was no head light. I could be wrong never owned one

voltage reg?
Have not found the problem yet.
No wires rubbed!
Polaris guy thought it might be the voltage regulator?
Is this a problem on the SRX?
Thought I would try the regulator next and then the Stator?
Any thoughts?
