grease your new yamaha bearings. If you crack the seal on a new one you will notice 1 buger of grease in the entire thing. its ridiculous

Chain was $90 last time I bought one. You can buy higher quality bearing at a bearing place for much less than oem. Most will know what you need but if you look within the yamaha part number you'll see the bearing type (6205...).

As long as you have jackshaft out, take it in and have it checked to make sure it is straight. Yamaha does a great job of fit and finish but, the jack and drive shafts are typically not as straight as they could be. This leads to premature bearing failure and vibration while riding. The cost is usually minimum but the gain is a smoother ride and less bearing fatigue.

Just did the same thing to mine...Yamaha bearings are way to expensive!!!! I went to a local guy who sell every kind or bearing on earth and got mine some exact thing for $25...Even if those go out again you still don't have as much money in them...If Yamaha's bearings were so great then why did thy FAIL??? I mean their's a million resons why a bearing will fail but, it seems like it happens alot...
