what is the difference in cylinders with 8CH-01 and 8CH-00 there both of the readhead 700 non power valve just wondering if you can run both on same engine

do you have them both to phisically view them,must be some difference,but I could be wrong.I personally would stick to the same type together.

one(00) looks like it's from a early 700 sx and the other from later 700sx,vm(01)i do think they would be the same and could be used but i cant say 100%

the 00 was '97 only. 01 was '98 & later. the only difference is the cylinder support boss cast ( external ) @ the intake side. the '98 & later is a stronger cylinder. porting & all other specs are the same. when you look @ both side by side the diff. is obvious.
there is no difference bt. a red sx or red vmx cyl.. they are all the same.
