srx 98-01 conversion

I just picked up a 98 srx with an 800 hauck motor in it and i want to drop the motor into my 01 srx, does anything besides the stator need to be changed? and what needs to be changed to make the 01 stator fit/work in the 98 cases? any help would be great thanks

i know you got to redrill a hole for the 01 stator to fit a 98 case ...and the wire harness would have to be changed ..cdi box ..carbs due to dcs sensor ...i belive thats it

i thought dcs was only on the 02's, im putting a 98 motor into an 01 srx so i want to keep all the 01 elecrical stuff and change the stator if i can to keep the higher watt stator in the 01

you need to use the 01 stator and mag,and move the pickup coil closer to the center line of the crank because the 01 mag is a bit smaller on the o.d.

I tinnk you can oval the holes in the pickup & move it closer to the flywheel.
