well im getting my motor back together finnally and while it was out i decided to go premix because it is used for drag racing only. I removed the oil pump made a block off plate and i was told that i need to keep a tank for a oil drip for the bearings.. is this true or can i just premix and go if so what is a good mix ratio? In my snox sled i run 32:1 is that good or can i go a bit leaner?

the shaft bearings need to be lubed. drill a hole in the block off plate & locktite a 90 degree elbow, connect a piece of fuel line long enough to cable tie to carb rack. fill hose w/ oil on race day.

yea was planning on running dominator and 50:1 sounds right thats what i run in my 77 srx as well. Thanks for the input guys

I know of a guy that used to run 100:1 Amsoil premix in a 700 SX drag sled. Not positive on the oil used though likely Dominator.

Naw, can't happen ;>)

I don't quite understand the need to lube "the shaft". Since the oil is mixed with the fuel, what's the difference?

Oh, maybe it's the oil pump drive shaft?
