Don't know why this is happening this season.Last season ended with SRX running stronger then ever. This season it just won't perform as it should.Used same setup as last year and can only reach 95 to 100 mph on her and that is it.Primary loaded stock weights and spring.Ran 51/43 helix green at 80(last years set-up) and it is reving to 8600 to 8700 wot and speed doesn't pu.Lasdt night I decided to go back to the 47 stock helix, scrubbed belt doen and washed it also.Went out today and it is even more a mystery to me.WOT on the river it is reving only to 8000 to 8100 if lucky.Still doing about 92 on speedo.
Did some dead stop runs and seems like motor will start to bog and sounds weird and that is when it gets to 8000 rpms.Did a few mor dead stop pins and the DCS flashes on a couple times..Then another wot run along the ditch and DCS flashes on i blink....
what the hell is happening here? This from a stock ser up basically..expected better rpms.If I am rolling and pin it it will get to about 8200 to 8300 out of the hole and eventually drop doen to 8000 again wot.....
Can't figure this out.

would putting in the 50 pilots from 42.5 cause any of these issues? Last season ran 42.5 and was ok,but thought I'd go 50 because of lean idle hangup.Still have that issue still, have to really turn doen the idle screw so it is at 15-1600 idle.
sounds like tors is saving your motor.
carbs are clean and good 91 octane is in it? might have to try a colder plug in it to compensate for ethenol. going through some of this with dad's 05 venture atm.

there is no ethenal in the premium gas out here.Carbs are always clean here, did it twicw in the last little while.Had to change pilots so went thru them again.I just want everything running peak ..that's all.Is that to much to ask for..loll
the difference from season end to sesason begins ..is a huge difference in performance..same friggin stuff in the sled..

if the set up is the same as last year and it ran good it's not the set up then, did anything change, put on weight, studs, etc, etc???? how did the pistons look when heads were off? how many miles now??
Hold out for the right snow condition as last year and you'll be good,,,,, some can slow you down by 10mph in no time...... or check the obvious....

I had the same problem with my piped sxr 700. The pilots were too rich and it affects it way you are describing. If that is the only thing you changed then I would start there.

hate to take carbs out again..but a good place to start I guess.Pistons look good daman.Sled is actually starting better then it ever did before to.I put studs on the track this season, but this sled had a studded track originally and with more studs and it didn't stop the sled from performing.
Now that I scrubbed the belt really clean, thatmakes it grab even better..but..so much you say that it is making the belt shift to quickly.Remember I was using 51/43 the other day and over reving and none of this was happening at launch..engine would just launch right thru the rpm's without that bog or hesitation/then I go to 47 helix and all of a sudden it feels like the motor is being overloaded for some reason.

was the track removed to put studs on? Maybe the track is tighter?

i'd put the 51/43 back in but try the twist at 60 and see what happens.the dcs is probally just because the 47 is loading the engine to much.

A 54/44 is also highly recommended in a srx

I am putting the 51/43 back in.It over reved a bit so I added .5 g to tip for a total of 5 grams now instead of 4.5.Most say they use the w-w-w spring in stead of y-w-y with that helix. How do the 2 springs differ.w-w-w shifts quicker or what? I also have a y-g-y spring laying around from the sxr..

got the clutches set up again. But noticed something funny when I took off the PV cover. The servo is in open position, shouldn't be like that unless I dropped the rpm to under 1000.If I just came back from a ride and drove into the garage and shut off,the servo shouldn't be in this position..hmmmmm
NOW WHAT???? Going to check if cables in the right slot. For some reason I am adjusting PV's.#1 is adjusted, went to #2 and can't get enough adjustment to tighten the allen wrenchs used as spacers...
