My Viper has developed a really annoying squeak coming from the steering tie rod ball ends at the skis. I have tried lubing them with low temp grease, but that only takes care of the problem for about 100 miles, then the squeak comes back. Is there a better product to lube these things with or do they just need to be replaced? They do not appear to be worn out (not loose or rattling around).

This is an area I've always lubed when greasing other parts of the sled. I have done this on all my sleds and am still using Polaris clutch/cable lube. It looks to be a light oil not unlike 3 in 1.
You need to use what is called a thin film lubricant. Something that can penetrate very tight places. Lithium grease or other types of grease are not going to do the trick. You are going to need a silicone spray lubricant or a penetrating oil to get in and stay in the race of the hiem joint. I spray mine with WD40 or a penetrating lubricant after every time out. THat way it has time to soak in before the next ride and this has worked well.
Great... thanks for the advice! I will give the spray stuff a try this weekend.

my SRX has always had that. It sounds like birds chirping in the front end! I guess I'll try that too.
