Can't seem to get over 95mph

I have made 2 trips to the UP in the last month and there has been a drop off in my top end between the 2 trips. Let me start by saying that I had CB Performance go thru the sled, rebuilding the shocks, cleaning the carbs, pv's, new track, etc. My first trip the sled ran great, having no problem exceeding 100 mph on straightaways and such, to the point where I had to get out of the throttle to keep from riding up on the sled in front of me. After that trip, the sled had been stored in my heated garage until Weds. when I headed up north again. We rode from Ironwood to HoopnHoller and right away I noticed the sled didn't have the top end I remembered from before. I had had trouble starting it so I thought I had fouled the plugs. I changed out the plugs and they looked pretty good, clean up to the bend in the electrode. The sled seemed to run a little better but I noticed that it never wanted to rev past 8000 or so. If I pinned it out of the hole, I might see 8100,8200 or so but cruising and nailing the throttle never saw more than 8000. Mid range power felt great...very snappy. The sled ran great in the turns...I weigh 250 and I kept having to back off my 150lb buddy on a Polaris Fusion. Problem was on the straights, He would put distance on me.

X2...There have been a couple members that have posted the same issues you have and it has turned out to be a broken power valve cable or a cable pulled out of one or more power valves. Wear + tear as well or if the power valves were adjusted too tight[not proper cable slack] this can happen.
 
Weather and snow conditions can play a big part of the top speed and rpm. Warm sticky snow creates alot of drag and will bog down the clutches and engine. It feels like the brake is on when you get into that stuff.
 
Power valve cables were all replaced by CB Performance prior to the season as was the belt. The first trip we saw temps in the high 30's low 40's versus high teen's low 20's this trip. We put on 550+ miles in 2.5 days this trip and I was averaging around 11mpg. Burned thru a gallon of Amsoil Intercepter. In regards to the power valve, why the difference between the 2 trips. I made no adjustments to the power valves at all.
 
What are your temps today? Go out for a test rip and post back top mph, rpm's and driving conditions.
You mentioned a new track. Have you checked the tension? New tracks do stretch a bit. Some people claim that at high speeds they balloon too much and slow you down.

CHECK YOUR POWERVALVES. doesnt really make a difference if they are new or not. one could have gotten stuck and ----->pulled through or broke the cable.
 
took my SRX out today,it is -6 C today and Sunny.Changed pilots from 50 to 42.5..that helped with my launches as in snappier out of the hole..Got to 100 on speedo today on the river and that is it.Dropped to 70 wrap with red spring and stock 47 helix.Clutches are totally cool to the touch.Drpped my rpm's a bit to.Because of the somewhat loose base..launches at 8500,drops to 8200 and climbs to 8400.Eventually on the long haul it starts to drop to about 8200 again. :o| I have 8dn-20's with 4.5 inner and 3.6 outer stock primary spring.Need to get past 100 now.....
