How do you move the motor on a 2000 SXR to adjust the belt tension

You don't! This has been asked here an awful lot lately. There are three bolts on the backside of your secondary clutch, there will be spacers on these three bolts. If your belt is too tight then you remove the spacers, if its too loose you need to put the spacers in if there are none there. There is also the possibility of the bolts being worn on the tips, if so you need to buy some new ones to put in.
 
Well that sucks
My new gator back 36gbss1132 is too loose
But an old power streak 71176 seems ok
What to do?
 
You do move the motor to get the correct distance from clutch to clutch. There are 4 motor mounts. If you are moving to get center to center correct, you will need to check your offset as well.

I don't see why not. Mant people here find that OE Yamaha belts seem to fit better than the aftermarket ones, keep in mind too that the new belt that is loose already will get worn and more loose so eventually you would have to put in more spacers. IMO either bring the belt back say its defective and try to get another one, or get a belt from Motorsports World.
