With all the melt downs this year I have a report as well. Had a good day of riding on Wednesday. Came back to fuel up, nothing out of the ordinary while riding till this point. Little did I know, Mother nature was conspiring against me. Topped off, fired up the sled rode about 500ft and a tree jumped right out in front of me ! The trail was rough so I was riding the crown on the edge of the trail when mt right ski sank and sucked me right into the tree. Luckilly I was only going like 15mph!! Needless to say I wiped out a bumper, ski, trailing arm and the trailing arm mount in the footwell. So I guess I'll be looking for some parts !!!

Dang! Did almost the same thing as you did. Was riding the top of the coner on the outside (trail was beat most of the corners were bare grass),hit more bumps out there right ski went off the trail into the powder. Missed alot of trees except for the one that was already down. The tree did push me and the sled back onto the trail tho. Damaged a little pride the belly pan,the exhaust mount and spring that hold the pipe down. Rode another 100 miles to end the day off. First time I've been "playing in the bush". :bash: Not that fun.

happend to me a few years ago, steep ditch + fresh powder + fence post = new gauge pod, gauges, and windshield and the shittiest thing of all it was the start of a weekend trip.

Ugh that sucks man!!

I did get that parts sled so I have everything you need, and the hood still =)

Give me a ring if you want to grab some stuff this weekend.

I figured I wasn't alone on this one !!! Seems the right ski gets it almost all the time !!! I had my bars turned all the way locked the track and tried to slide the *** end over....no response !! At the last second I goosed it it hoping for the best and CRUNCH !! I actually broke the cash with my knee ! I was flailing like a fat whale out of water ! My head was that far over the hood that I "seen the light" !! The headlight that is ! LOL!!

It could of been worse!!! Like me for example...
Summer of 08 I got my VIPER could not wait to ride it...We got some snow so I figured I'll take it for a ride, Rode around for a few minute's wow was it fast... Figured I'd go up to the local bar for a bud...Crossing the street going about 10-15 mph tops went to go up a curb....That's when it went all WRONG...I must of hit it at a slight angle cause the trailing arm folded under the sled.....I fly off with my arms still in the riding position hit the ground a break my damn collar bone....I stand up like WTF just happened felt like just took a neck punch.. walk over to the sled and see that it bent the trailnig arm UNDER at almost a 90 degreee angle all the rods are trashed Spindle is junk, but the simmons ski was fine... SO now I have to ride this broken sled with my broken right collar bone home....Had to put my broken arm up on the bars to use the gas and pray that nothing else happened on the way home.... made it 18.3 miles and wrecked my VIPER and broke my collar bone...
So it could of been worse....LOL
Viper is fixed, but collar bone still bugs me....
Total price about $6000.00 that includes a month off work

Had something real similar to Soup's incident happen to me about a month ago in the UP. 20 miles into our first ride of the weekend (and my first ride all year) my buddies missed a corner.....in making sure I avoided them I locked up the breaks and was going to slide the corner no problem. Studs caught a rut, flipped the sled on it's side (by that time I was down to 15-20 mph)....ended up landing on my shoulder and broke my collar bone. Broke the headlight cover, fairings, windshield...nothing major and should only be $200-$300 to fix. Luckily my shoulder felt the best with my arms up on the bars, so we ended up putting another 400 miles on that weekend...I took it a little easier, but still had fun. I didn't find out my collar bone was busted until I got home on monday morning. But now here I sit with all kinds of snow, a broken sled, and a broken collar bone. I guess it is what it is.....can't wait to get back out there.

Here's one for ya. This happened last year in January. We were on our way back from an afternoon ride (P.S. to Bass Lake) and it was about 4:30, the sun was going down and I was having a hard time seeing because my visor was fogging badly. We were clipping along at about 80KMS and before I know it BAMM. Turns out I missed a sharp turn and landed in a 4-5 foot ditch, fell forward and mashed the throttle came flying out of the ditch on about a 75 degree angle doing the superman, completly dissoriented. Cracked my ribs up pretty bad, smashed my face and was spitting blood (helmet was loose and went flying) and had no choice but to ride it home. But all in all I got lucky, the sled was fine aside from sepperating the shock mount from the rails and ya know what the only rider out of about 4 or 5 that stopped to see if I was O.K. was riding an RX-1, the Yellow Piss Pots just kept on like I wasn't there...

Man bad luck seems to be umungst us ! I would feel better bout mine if I was doing something cool or spectacular, but going down a slight hill 15mph and sliding into a tree likw a chud ! What a putz !! Oh well, I wanted to modify my trailing arms anyhow !
