I have a 98 SRX 700. I opened the hood the other day and noticed for the first time that there is an on/off nob on the drivers left hand side of the machine near the carbs. I just bought this sled a few months ago and it has always been in the off position.
On/Off Switch in Engine?

that is the on/off for your carb heaters. in the on position it pumps the anti-freeze through the carbs so they don't freeze up in really cold temps.
Thats to turn on your heated carbs. You don't really need them until it starts to get really cold out. But it is good to turn it on and off every once in a while or else it will sieze up and you won't be able to turn it.

Get the sled hot/warm,grab onto it with channel locks and turn gently.
Wrap the knob in a thick rag and use a pair of pliers to open and close it a few times,if your lucky it will free up enough to turn by hand.Otherwise you may have to drain some of the coolant down below the water rail level where the knob is,take out the 2 allen head bolts,one on top and the other on bottom,pull the knob out and put some o ring lube on the rubber o ring and install it back into the rail.I've done this in the past to free up mine and it will help keep it free for a few years.Pauljones said:
