fuel shut-off

Hi all
Yesterday I was on Ebay and under the heading of Yamaha Phazer I seen a fuel shut-off valve.It was stated as being for a 86-93 Phazer and Phazer 2.I looked under the hood of my 86 Phazer and don't seem to be able to find one.My question is are these an optional add on item or are they stock?
 
The Phazer did not come with a valve. If it was on one, it was added.
 
So it's an aftermarket add on.I was thinking of adding one to my sled.Just didn't know if it was worth while.
 
I added one to my 84 phazer. I just used a briggs and stratton inline shut off. It fits in the line between the gage an fuel pump. Hidden behind the brake caliper. Good theft deterent also because they won't know its there.
