16. Fitting the reed to the reed block. The reed can be put in the wrong way round as the reed it self is curved slightly so it sits flush and hard against the reed cage this can be checked by holding the reed on a flat surface by the top where the two holes are. If you press it down and the bottom of the reed rises then the reed is upside down, turn it over and try again you will see this time the reed pushes hard against the surface. This is the correct way round. Note the chamfer in the corner this can be used to help you know which way round it should be when replacing.
