I put a long travel skid in my srx a few years ago from an 98 xtc. I got the front shocks with it and I think they are about the same length as the viper shocks. I tried to put them in with my stock radius rods and it lifted my front end way too much and the geometry was off. This year i got a set of shocks from a 2002 rmk real cheap and got a set of viper radius rods. Last week I put this setup together and was quite pleased with it. The rmk shocks are 17 inches hole to hole, I'm not exactly sure, but I think the viper ones are about 18 inches. But I ended up with 9 1/2 inches clearance under my belly pan after I was done and my ski stance stayed about the same so I used my stock srx steering rods instead of the viper ones. The top radius rod bushings were too wide to fit the mounting bracket of my srx trailing arms so I had to take an angle grinder with a zip disc and cut them narrower to fit. So bottom line is you will need the viper radius rods to get the viper shocks to fit and you can still make sx trailing arms work but if you need to replace one anyways and could get the viper ones for a good price, I would get them. The viper trailing arms will give you a little more clearance also because they have longer spindles. But you will have to get the viper spindles as well. If you do all of this I would definately do something with your back suspension also. Get some longtravel shocks and limiter straps and maybe even put in some drop brackets. Otherwise your front end will be too high for your back suspension. Good luck.
