94 vmax 600 clutch torque specs?

Can anyone tell me what the torque specs are for a stock primary clutch on my 94 vmax600 are? Also is there a special way to do it? I heard of some people torquing it down, backing off and retorquing it.

Step 1-tighten bolt to 85 ft.lb

step 2-loosen bolt back up

step 3-re-tighten bolt to 43 ft.lb
