Grinding Carbides

Has anybody ever tried to grind down a carbide to make shorter? I have a set of 10" I would like to be 6" any ideas?

Cant do it easily,carbide wears extremely hard when using a grinder in it,or are you talking cutting the bar down in half so to speek?

You have to use a GREEN wheel.

Why? The ten inch will last for ever. I always run alot of carbide on a trail sled. Might as well get some miles out of them.

Grinding is waaaay to much work. Use a torch heat the host bar and remove a section of carbide. The inserts are silver soldered into a groove in the host bar.

I would like to know also? The biggest benefit to more carbide is they will take longer to wear.
