I have fully loaded stock weights on my sx-r 700 and its overevving quite bad along with a 51/43 rx-1 helix and everything else stock. So, Ive considered going to Heavy Hitters as they seem promising or a heavier Yamaha weight.Everything in my clutches seems good and were serviced this past fall my secondary is wrapped at 60, it was even worse for overrevving at 70.This clutching combo used to be fairly close until I rebuilt the top end and put it all together with a single layer head gasket so its definetely making more power.Any advice on which direction I should go with this is greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention my clutch engages at around 3800 rpm's as it always has and shifts out around 8800-8900 rpm's which is obviously too high.I have also noticed my mileage is down with the way it is now.I mostly ride winding trail and off trail with not alot of lake running type stuff.I'd really like this thing clutched for ripping midrange and decent low end.I don't run much high speed top end type riding, but don't want to totally kill top end though.I figured being more specific on this would be good, lol.

How hot do the clutches get? there are so many varibles as to why its over-reving,,,,really need more info.....sheaves could be slippin on belt...belt could be glazed...gas could be low octane....spring could be bad...etc......If you really loaded the clutch down with weight, it would not over rev unless another factor or factors are involved, such as what was suggested. i believe.

The clutches stay fairly cool and belt doesn't seem to be slipping, its an ultimax 3 which in my experience lower rpm's a little anyways.I clean the belt and deglaze the sheaves regularily. It wasn't doing this last season, in fact it was underevving slightly. To me it just seems to be making more power and overevving and we all know thats not good.Thats why I'm seeking feedback on clutch weights because I remember Turk saying to tune with the primary and I'm gonna have to do something different with weights.

Spring Maybe?

What primary spring and weights U running ? U might want to try next lighter spring and if it's too light by a little U can put in a shim or 2.

Spring.

If you are running Y-G-Y spring I see no reason why U couldn't try a W-G-W or maybe even a B-G-B and add shims if required, U do have the longer spring clutch right ?

I have a y-g-y in the primary and a green secondary spring and yes I have the long spring primary.I have thought of trying different springs, but there is no snow for testing now, bummer huh?

Tell me about it.

Can't test here either anymore it sucks, My sled is doing the same thing, it's over by 1,2 hundy and I have to try a lighter spring cause I have max rivot weight in now.

Yep, it'll probably be next year now for testing.I like the thought of the cost savings with the spring change as opposed to different weights.

Spring ?

Hopefully by going to a lighter tention spring you can get a little more head room so you can maybe lighten up on U're rivots if U need to, Or be able to add shims, (I know it will work)
