99 vmax 700. the recoil pull doesnt fully retract back in all the way. is there a way to fix this? or do i need a new recoil assy?? thanks
I just rebuilt one from a 2001 that wouldn't recoil most of the time, what i discovered was the rope itself had sections that increased in diameter, basically some sections had bunched up to the point that it couldn't fit all the rope around the pulley.JeepJimmy said:99 vmax 700. the recoil pull doesnt fully retract back in all the way. is there a way to fix this? or do i need a new recoil assy?? thanks

A couple of bucks said:It certainly wouldn't hurt if the cash is available.
Mine broke this past winter when we were off on a zero dark 30 ride. Had to break out the NEVER used EMERGENCY START ROPE from the tool pouch. It took 4 guys approxemently 2 decades to figure out how the damn thing hooks up.......and 2 seconds to start it.
