zr 800 vs srx lake run


my machz had nitrous on it when i bought it, but since the previous owner had to rebuild every time he touched it off i pulled it off the sled and sold it. of course that was a doo not a yammy, and i'm pretty sure there wasn't much thought put into the setup
 
So how do Srx's and others do against an 03 RX1 in the leg stretching catagory. I ask because I've never been on an SRX or Viper long enough to know. I've got Vmax-4's and an 03 liquid silver and did get a chance to run the RX against a Viper (twice) on an approx 1 1/2 long run this year in very good conditions and he wasn't even close. Even gave him a big head start (well over 500 ft) and went by him at a very good clip with my dream meter bouncing off 127. I know my Vmax-4 will stay with and/or beat the RX but what's the norm on others? It's not that big a deal to me but do like to know a little about things before I shoot my mouth off.

i think a srx will give u all u want on a lake. they push more horsies than the viper unless the viper has been done up
 
i will keep you posted i just bought an 2005 rx1 putting in dalton weights and spring kit front and rear dropping 2 teath on top i hope to run a friends 2001 srx on weekand he has a hauck clutch kit in his keep you posted
 
PHIL, A WELL SET-UP SRX WILL GIVE YA FITS ON A TOP END PULL. FROM WHAT I SEEN, RX-1 IS NOT A LONG LEGED TOP END RUNNER LIKE THE SRX. I BELIEVE THE SKID IN THE RX-1 SCUFFS SOME MPH OFF. I REMEMBER WHEN THE RX-1 CAME OUT, AFEW I KNOW BOUGHT HEAVY HITTER CLUTCH KITS, FILTER KITS, etc, I STILL RAN RIGHT BY THEM WITH MY 2002 SRX IN A 1 MILE RUN. I TOO STILL RACE A VMAX 4 800, AND ON THE GRASS TO BOOT AND I HAVE BEAT MANY SRX,s. ALTHOUGH I THINK MY 2000 SRX MAY RUN WITH MY VMAX 4 NOW. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
I have run many RX-1's and Apex's with stock SRX's and on good hard packed conditions it's not a race.. The SRX has much longer legs!! Get into soft loose conditions and things could get interesting though!!!
 
I don't think the RX 1 will stand a chance, they have never impressed me without a turbo
