Studs 4 SRX????

Alright, so the plan is to pick up a 3/4" lug Camo track and some studs for my SRX so I can hit up the grass drags this summer/fall. What studs do you guys recomend? I am looking at the Woody's Megabites, but they are expensive with nuts and backers. The SS look alright but they are a straight up trail stud, no good for racing. What do you guys recommend as far as value priced studs? I don't mean cheap junk, just good price. I see Woodys offer a new stud called the Excell. Are they any good?

P.S. This track will be doing double duty as a trail track also so no racing studs/chisels. Although I did see that Woodys now offers the chisels to the trail rider in 5/16" instead of 7mm? I wouldn't think that they would hold up very well on the trail?
 
The excels have been around for a long time. They are fairly cheap. The carbide is not very long on them, unlike the gold diggers.

Chisels hold up just fine on the trail......they just don't hold up very well on the roads. I used to run chisels year round, and I am probably going to do it again next year. The 5/16" chisels are alot more durable when braking, which is when they are at their weak point. If you are not entering events that require you to run trail studs, run 144 1.2" chisels.
 
i would say 144 mega bites .chisel studs around parry sound would be broke off/worn out in no time .to much road running around the trails here man

i installed 144 woodys megabites in the middle of my .920 track mid winter. they hook up really good. i used the 1.075"
 
Sounds like megabites would be your best bet if you want double duty with same track.Nothing beats a chisel for all out racing! If you plan on putting any kind of aggressive clutching like 8bu setups,then you might want to throw some chisels into the mix,just to much power down to quick for anything but.I think many guys stated before, very hard to go from trail to race with same setup and be competitive.
 
WWW, 8DN 20's, and green secondary for me so I shouldn't need the chisels for low end traction.
