i have one of the skinny rear coolers out of a mtn max and i want to put it in my mtn viper with pipes, it seems like the diameter of the tubes coming out of the mtn max cooler is smaller than the tubes coming out of my regular style viper/srx rear cooler, will these tubes not allow enough coolant flow or will it work? if it will cool a mtn max i don't see why it wouldn't cool the viper enough as well but im just wondering. if anyone has any info that would be great thanks

I had the same cooler mounted in my 136" Viper. It had 3/4" tubes I believe. Mounted to the top of the rear tunnel. I ride mainly hard packed trails in Central NY. That cooler was really inadequate for keeping the sled running cool in trails. I would see temps of 170farenheit, normally, into the 190's. I swapped out to the curved "Viper" style and would run 150's-160's normally. I would look for a Viper style, I believe that was the application that I have now, that mounts to the top and rear of the tunnel w/ the same 1" tubes that run from the running board coolers.

Depending on how long your mtn viper is an arctic cat crossfire cooler out of an 08 or 09 would be perfect. It measues 17" x 8" and can be mounted for rear hoses like the viper, but I had it the other way to extend my sled out and use my short track hose covers, works awesome and snow always sticks to it and keeps this thing cool!!! The bonus is that this cooler new is only 80 or 90 bucks!!!

It should work the opposite way that I have it pictured, but check your tunnel for rivets that may be in the way where your extension mounts to your tunnel. I used fittings (gray) from a hardware store to put it together (elbows)

I used one

I used one in a my viper but I put the right size tubes on it. I cut the 1/2" tubes off flush, ground out the holes a little, then took a crossover tube from a viper, chopped it up and tig welded the 3/4" tubes back on. Worked fine for me......but note that I was not running pipes. If you are running pipes on your viper you may want to look for somthing that holds a little more fluid and has more surface area in contact with the snow spray. Just my .02

i may just run a regular srx cooler and have it stick out the bottom of the tunnel ext if i have to, i may consider cutting the tubes and putting the crossover pipe on for spouts as well, that's a good idea matt thanks
