I bought some used gears from a 2000 srx and today when i was going to replace them it looks like there diffrent than whats in my 2001 mine have more of a pointed tooth where these are round. and when i use my chain the chain dont sit all the way to the bottom of the gear i can see quite a bit of light . like maybe the pitch is diffrent. any ideas.. i checked the chain from some of my cat parts and it sat the same way.. but was fine on the cat gears and . would this bee a hyvo gear or something.

looking on the micro fishce it looks like the sxr and srx have different chain part numbers..
the gear on the left is non hyvo, and the one on the right is hyvo. i thought 2000 and up srx's ran the hyvos. they are not interchangable, that gear wont work with that chain. you need a matching set of gears and chain, but you already figured that out.

yah shortly after i posted this i figured it was a hyvo. ihave a lot of parts but unfortunatly nothing will work right gears wrong chain. new chain no gears ..
