My MountainMax and I have had a fantastic season, just fantastic. We've logged over 2000 kilometres through three countries (Norway, Sweden and Finland) and the only thing broken/worn out were the three bolts in the back of the secondary clutch and a belt. And what a day to ride; +18°C in the shade down by the house, no wind and riding wearing only my aviator sunglasses and "kofte" (traditional Norwegian nitted sweater made from wool). May (get the pun?) only the next season turn out to be as great as this one.

Nice picture. I see you have a 2 up seat on that machine, I take it for granted that you upgraded the shocks of that sled? If so, what shocks did you go with?
 
Thanks norwegian. I'm actually still riding bone stock, but the suspension is way too soft for 2-up riding so upgrades are in order. Even with the FRA on max, and max preload on the center and rear spring I'm still bottoming out without even trying much. I'm currenly considering the OEM Yamaha #3 rear spring, but nothing's been decided yet.
 
The shocks are more than likely shot, the rear one anyway. I upgraded mine with Works shocks, worked good, easy to install and the suspension is soft without bottoming.
 
Works shocks from Hartman inc, bolt right on a 2001 MM 700, you can choose between light rider set up and a bad/fat boy set up. I chose the latter, ordered through Rich. Cost $ 900 for both center and rear, but well worth it. Bolt right on, in minutes.
If that is too steep, you can probably get some KYB shocks from Pioneer performance for a lower price.
