ive saved some extra cash to get my sled on bikemans dyno and im just curious as what to expect and such. i plan on just seeing how much and where for sure my power is. i also plan on testing the stock muffler vs a bender can. this is on my 00 srx 700. they charge 250 minimum. thats enough for two hours. will two hours be enough time? they told me they charge 2 hour min because setup takes time. should i bring jets to tune it for the temp there or is that somthing thats done or calculated by them? sorry for all the questions, just curious.

You are definetely going to want to re-jet it on the dyno. After your first run, they'll be able to tell you where to go for jetting. As for being enough time, it all depends on how fast you work, and if you run into any issues. It should be plenty of time, though.

so if know what temp im jetted for in colder conditions i could use my mikuni slide calculator to ball park it so it wouldnt take as much time? im at 152.5 mains now for i believe 10-20 below F.

That jetting will probably be pretty close if you run it without an airbox. It's also alot easier to make jetting changes without having to remove the airbox everytime. If you are going to dyno it with the airbox on, I'm going to guess that you'll be somewhere around 135-140's for mains.....depending on air density.

Okay thanks I'll have to get my self a rule book for this year just to see where I can make changes, unless Canadian ISR and USA ISR are different LOL. we all say the ISR rule are followed here at the races but are they really going by the rules don't know, so I'm just wondering if these things can be done to my sled and pass our "ISR" teching rules.

needasrx, you wont find the blueprint specs in the rulebook. Blueprinting the engine consist of taking every measurement on the cases, cylinders, head volumes, piston weight, pinweight, etc. and making them all exactly what the yamaha spec is. Theres alot of "tolerances" in mass production so a part only has to fit a "window of specs" and if these motors have all the larger spec windows youll have a engine that doesnt pull the same hp spec as another engine. This is exactly why some run better then others and are brand new, even bought the same day. These engines(srx700) blueprinters I have done in the past made low 150's hp wise, so you have some power hiding in the engine when your getting serious into "class racing".
OK thanks mrviper but If I was too get my SRX balance and blueprinted will they not let me race in our ISR rules races where just the basic tech goes on such as taking the plug out and looking inside the cylinder area and saying ok your good too run. Would this procedure be the same as a trail port job on stock motor
I did read the rules for stock ISR and it says that there can be no changes to the motor internally or externally

the motor blueprinted would be legal in any isr sanctioned event, and will pass any tech because they are using the same specs your motor is setup to,your not trail porting it in anyway, your making the specs exactly to the yamaha factory specs, its not seen by the naked eye, you are talking, .002" here, .004" here, all the way from the case half to the cylinder, head, piston and then comes all the exact weight of the parts.

just curious but my 09-10 isr book says "blueprinting of engines not allowed. no removal of any material whatsoever will be allowed. this is to include polishing, port matching, deburring, glass or sand blasting surfaces or material removal for the purpose of engine blancing or other reasons."
this is under ice and snow drag racing stock rules.
