Has anyone here put the 94-96 style 600 motor into a newer 600 mountain max sled?
I own a 95 600 vmax st, runs great just been in a few crashes. I have located a 2003 600 mountain max that blew the crank out and I think I can pick it up for a resonable price. I am not too worried about swaping stuff over. I just want to know if mounting the engine in will be a bolt in deal or a pain to line up.
Thanks,

Mounts are totally different I would think that it would be almost impossible to do it. But the old saying is if you have a torch and a welder almost anything is possible. Good Luck Didn't the 2003 have a 600 triple?

i,m thinking 98 was the last year for the twins then they come out with 600 triple vmax ????????????
not sure about the swap, but the old 600 twin has MUCH larger intake ports and reeds, also higher compression heads. I would take the old 600 twin over the new 600 twin any day. but the new chassis rides much better. Sounds like the best of both worlds to me

you can do that just use new model bottom end covers and old model crank+top end. U can even use exciter crank like i did with my project
