THANKS EXTREMELYFASTMAX4. YOU EXPLAINED THIS PERFECT. THIS IS THE DEFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SRX,s YOU SAW AT THE GRASS DRAGS 10 YEARS AGO AND THE ONES YOU SAW AT YOUR DEALERS. 3;16 (yammie tony)
What did it cost to have all that work done? if you got a deal or did it yourself what would it cost the average guy to take it somewhere and have it done?

I WON,T GET INTO NITTY GRITTY OF WHAT I DID TO MY SRX. (yammie tony)

Come on Tony please do tell. Your not trying to protect racing secrets on a Eleven year old barnyard SRX.
Tony please tell all. ---Mac---

"Whats your brake specific?"...What does this foreign language mean??

I would suggest the quote refers to "Brake Specific Fuel Consumption"[BSFC]
it is measured in and equals "pounds of fuel per hour per horsepower" [the lower the number the leaner the fuel/air ratio is]
.70 and higher is safe spec for pump gas
[Most stock 2 strokes are factory jetted for high .70s and maybe into the low .80s]
.60 - .69 requires 92+ octane fuel to resist detonation during sustained high speed ops
.55 - .59 allows short full throttle runs on 92 octane fuel for longer runs 100+ octane is needed
.50 - .54 is OK for drag racing on 100+ octane fuel
.49 + lower...twilight zone...drag race only 110+ octane fuel

Of course a lot of variables come into play that effect optimum BSFC:
-expansion chamber design, especially stinger dimensions
-cylinder head cooling capability
-cylinder head squish clearance, widths and angles
-compression ratios
-ect
In my experience most engines make the most drag race surviveable power in the low .60s

GUYS LOOK AT IT THIS WAY. lol. IF THESE GUYS WITH THESE F-7,s THAT BASISLY OPSLETED EVERY MUSCLE SLED FROM 1995 TO 2006 AT THE GRASS DRAGS CAN CLAIM THEIR '' CAT '' IS STILL LEGAL STOCK, I DID THE SAME THING. THIS SLED IS YAMAHA VERSION OF THE F-7. STOCK VERY STOCK rotflmao !!! WELL THERE ARE TWO CATAGORIES OF STOCK, SLOW STOCK AND FAST STOCK. 3:16 (yammie tony)

and i,m going 2 suggest that the f7 cat now has more than it bargened for and its still efi verse carborated now if we had a efi 700 srx it would not be a race any more??????????????????????? AL

Trust me the power to weight of the F cat is still superior!! They to have a set of submited specs used for ISR stock classes.. Tony's not the first to do this with an SRX..

DING, DING , DING, GIVE DAN A CIGAR. WE HAVE A WINNER. IF EVERYBODY DID THIS THEY WOULD STILL BE WINNING WITH A SRX BECAUSE DAN,S RIGHT, THE WEIGHT DEFFERENCE OF THE CAT STILL MAKE THEM SUPERIOR. !! 3:16 (yammie tony)

First rule in racing....

If the weights were equal, things would be different with the F7 vs. SRX thing’. 500ft drag racing is all about preparation, setup, torque, and a little racing attitude. Knowing and seeing this SRX run, Tony has them all covered. T, can’t wait to see this thing run now that you have some good baseline jetting and dyno info. Should be fun… fun… fun… ;)!

Nice Job Tony, excellent numbers! Jim @ Dynotech is a great guy and in my opinion the elite of the elite when it comes to talented "snowmobile" engine dyno operators. I think my wife and I are bringing the new creation there again in late-fall to destroy the 600 h.p. mark.

ONE HAS TO WONDER LIKE MIKE POSTED WHERE THESE TWO SLEDS WOULD BE IF THE CAT WAS 80 POUNDS HEAVIER, OR THE SRX WAS 80 POUNDS LIGHTER. WHEN I POST ABOUT THESE TWO SLEDS, I AM TALKING ABOUT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF ISR STOCK CLASS RACING. AT THE OUTLAW, BARNYARD STUFF, HELL I HAVE BEAT,IN F-CATS WITH MY VMAX 4. PICTURE THIS, GUY PULLS A XP 800 TO THE LINE, ANOTHER GUY PULLS A F-7 TO THE LINE, XP IS PROBLEY LIGHTER THAN THE F-7. THAN HERE COMES A 95 VMAX 4 THAT MIGHT WEIGH 200 POUNDS MORE THAN BOTH. PEOPLE ARE LAUGHING ON THE SIDELINES, GREAT WATCHING THOSE LAUGHS GO TO STUNNED!!!!!! GUESS WHO WINS BECAUSE VMAX HAS THE BEST SET-UP ? THAT MAKES UP FOR THE WEIGHT DEFFERNCE, BUT WHEN TWO SLEDS ARE SET-UP EQUAL, THAN THERE IS A HUGE ADVANTAGE TO THE LIGHTER SLED. SHOULD BE FUN THIS FALL MIKE. 3:16 (yammie tony)
P.S. chuckie has made three 9 second runs this year at empire.
