does anyone know off hand, if a 68L chain will work for 22/40 gearing? i know the chart says you need a 70L chain, but it also says that a 70L chain is needed for 23/38 gearing, when i know of guys that still run the 68L chain w/that setup, as the 68L chain fits/works. thanks guys.

JOSH, I RAN 21/40 FOR 660 ICE DRAGS USEING THE 70 LINK CHAIN. I DON,T THINK THE 68 WOULD GO ON. ALL YOU CAN DO IS TRY IT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Nope. You are 1 tooth too high for a 68L. You can only run a max of 61 teeth on a 68L.

Ok, thanks guys.
That's good to know valin....61 teeth max for 68L chain. What is the max for a 70L chain?

I'm pretty sure it's 65 teeth.
Can you run 20/40 with a 70 link on grass ? or would the 68L be better

68L would be better, as you wouldn't have as much slack to take out, as you would have when using the 70L chain.
I'm running 23/42 with a 70 in my srx. It's pretty snug. Don't know about adding another tooth, but honestly never tried.

THE KEY TO RUNNING THE RIGHT CHAIN REALLY AIN,T '' SNUG ''. THE KEY IS HAVEING ATLEAST AMOUNT OF BEND AS POSSIBLE. 3:16 (yammie tony)
Yep. And I've got very little bend
