need help front heat exchanger

i have a 2000 sxr 700 rip a stud half way out of the track and killed front heat exchanger does anyone have any info on going about changing it or can i weld it stud put a grove down the hole thing thanks any info would be great

yes you can weld it because it is 6061 t6 aluminum. Make sure you know what you are doing when you weld it. It saves to $100 if you are able to weld it shut otherwise there are always new heat exchangers on ebay for $100. HOpe this helps
