Does anyone know which way the lower gear in the chain case is supposed to go back on the drive shaft. I have an owners manual for my srx and it has a different lower gear than the sxr. Had a few too many beers the other night cant remember which way it goes.....

cant remember off the top of my head for sure, but the way i do it, assuming you have the thinner of the 2 collars/spacers (7mm) behind the lower gear is to lay a straight edge over the case housing and measure to the upper and lower gear for the same distance, without the chain. shoulder on the gear out, i think, but your measurement will tell you which way the shoulder on the gear goes. i have a hard time remembering as well.

I'm also doing it from memory, but I believe I read in the manual that all bearings, seals, and gears should be installed with the stamps and lettering facing out so that you can read them when installed.
