1000ft & trail Clutching

How do you think this will act? engage and 900 ft speed & such? There is a Formula III 700 that runs about 103-104 and i want to beat him w/ out major engine mods. Just clutching and studs.
8BUOO weights
Stock primary y/w/y
Green Secondary 70 degree twist
straight 45 helix
3.6 gr. rivets in the tips& nothing in the middle hole.
stock gears 23/38
96 studs in only the center of the track
I already have a Hauck Triple race silencers (should i remove to do racing speed runs and put on stock). :letitsnow
 
Clutching does not tell us anything with out knowing what year srx u have & what is it running for rpm,s right now with that set up. Also is the engine healthy...good compression & powervalves all working.
 
I have not got this set up yet just the silencers. My sled is an 02 700 triple srx. Comp was around 125-130 on all of the cylinders. Right now it is all stock. Don Pizor (i think thats how to spell his last name) said to try all this clutching to get started. w/ tuning and test i should be able to hit high 90's to low 100's what do you think in 900 ft. he also said 144 studs was gonna weight the track down to much. So i and thinking 96 or 120 possibly

IMHO - 96 trail studs on a stock Yoko track is nearly useless for drag racing. Granted 144 adds some weight (still too few for strickly drag racing IMHO) but you'll be chasing your competition instead of running away from them due to horrible 60 ft. times. 900 ft. is awful short to be running less than 192 trail studs. 144 chisles maybe but they don't last too long on the trail.

my $.02 based on the Yoko in my '01 that I left in way too long.
 
I simply gave you a free setup,you can either use it and get close, finish dialing the sled in or get opinions on a public forum, and I am sure youll get plenty, some good and some not so good. The guys here are simply trying to help. One thing youll have to learn though is youll never get to where you want to be by combining 25 differnt opinions on something,you have to pick 1 and go with it and see what your result is.
I would assume from reading the replys to the post that most dont understand what your trying to to do, run a 900ft long radar run. This is why the "stud numbers" suggestions are all over the place. The more studs you run, the heavier the track is. There is no "chase the competition", you simply run against a radar gun in a said distance. You walk the sled out easy and laydown speed,not elapsed time. The longer your on the course the more time you have to build speed!!

There is no magic part thats going to make you run big speed, theres only 1 thing that will do that, its called testing!!. You have what you need information wise,now what you do with it is up to you.
 
Thanks mrviper700! Im going to buy the clutch set up today i think so justin can help me with all that. Then figure out what i want to do for studs (brand & kind). Any recomendations? 1.075 size? brand? chisel or carbide?
