Is 4000 miles on that 97 mountain max getting up there?

That engine is known to last. Their is another post Bluemonster had about a 97 vmax he was geting for his stepson and i think they had a few problems here and their but from what ive read these tripples are bulletproof. They were know as the redheads because of the red head on the engine (i think it was the first year for this). As far as the miles go this engine is just breaking in. Some recomend new rings and go through the top end every 3-5000 miles, but that goes with any engine. Its all how you take care of it. I have 4800 on my viper and will probably tear it down after this season. Do a search lots of info on these sleds. CCC

I would check out the red 97 vmax at the pawn shop. It even has the address on their listing. I bet they would sell for 1200. I know its 400 more then your spending limit but its gonna be really hard to find a solid performing sled with no issues for anything less

ya, trouble is i would love to get that one, but being it is at a pawn shop i wont be able to scrap together 1200 till middle or end of november

that sucks they still have it. i just called them. that thing isn't going to last at that price and looks very clean.

being its a pawn shop, maybe you can make up the difference with something you don't need

ok he said 20% down, (270) than a min of 20% every month (270) and total balance has to be paid within 90 days

i would be going for a ride if he's gonna take a layway down payment... check the sled out first hes open mon-saturday

Ya free layaway, so after the down payment it would only be 360 a month for 3 months and i would have probably a little sooner cause i could do a little over 400 a month, so it would only take me 2 and 1/2 months

would put as much down as you could. they are nice sleds and its hard to find one in good condition

curious on the miles

I agree with tom. I got the mtn sled and the sx mixed up earlier but same diff. The pawn star one looks really clean, and in todays market i bet someone was just down on their luck and had to come up with cash. This could be the one. My buddy mike (also a member here) has 2 of those. a 600 and a 700. Never a bit of trouble with either. Ask lots of questions and take lots of pics and post back what you find. CCC

ok think ill run there monday after i get of work at noon should only be about an hour and a half drive so not to bad

sounds like you have some better options now. whats the price on the mtn max? i bet he wants at around 2K for that one

both nice sleds
