not sure, depends on exactly how much he is asking but i don't think you will get it for same price as the vmax

Really????? 3000 miles???? A Yamaha???? Wow!!!

PS. I guess I and everyone I know who has ever owned a Yamaha has not done a proper job of maintaining their sled if this is true.

If the seller was that worried about maintenance to freshen up the top end , I would expect the sled to look much better then it does. It just raises a flag

Tom- Ya i know i will never get that good looking of a sled for the same as a VMAX, do you think it would be realistic to talk the guy down to like 1200 or maybe even a 1000,they have it listed pretty close to bluebook value so depending on miles and hoping they dont know anything about sleds i would like to talk it down just a little. What do you think?
no.. i did not forget the 1. the rings in a 2 stroke motor simply do not last like you think they do. they wear out slowly over time and do not seal like they do when the sled was new. as the rings wear out, you get blow by and exhaust contaminates the fuel mixture.Robs96max4 said:opsled i think he forgot the 1 so i fixed it for him..![]()

Along with the rings wearing out you get piston slap in the bore causing excessive wear and continues to get worse if the top end is not rebuilt. This is how pistons end up shattering skirts when the wear gets excessive.
will your sled run beyond 3000 miles before you change the rings?? yes it will. but i guarantee the sled is not running like is was new, has blow by and really starting to wear internally..
I would offer him 1200 thats really a good deal for that sled if it checks out good. It looks clean from the pics

Thanks but apparently he didn't forget. I think he just doesn't know the differance between a Yamaha and a Ski Doo.

Naw man, yer pertineer half way through yer third top end. Better call early to get them parts reserved so-as to beat the rush and make sure they don't run out.

yea get pics of everything put the video on you tube of it running and post the link.. go all the way around the sled and under the hood. inspect the track, skid/w-arm. it wouldn't even hurt to pull the dip stick on the chain case

Tom- battery was dead but flipped the choke and 3 pulls and it started up, looks really clean to me next to normal wear and tear (control arms, and feet plates)
What do you think?
Is it worth 1350 or should I just wait it out for some more to come along?

did it start and run?
a few bumps on the trailing arms but i have seen much much worse.
the screen in the nose could be straightened and repainted black. i didnt know it has electric start, does the electric start work? looks like a bender racing silencer on it
track looks in good shape and looks like it was replaced not too long ago. over all not too bad shape but there is some maintenance you could do on it. and some cheap parts to pick up in the totallyamaha classifieds to help make it look new again such as the black dash shroud where the pull handle goes through, used trailing arms that are mint
