Ok ya the pawn guy said he only pawned it cause it was a freind who is a mechanic (taking that with a BIG grain assult) and said he wouldnt go any lower that what he has it at now....anything i could be saying that would bring it down in price????
I am willing to go at it for 1200 if you think it is a pair price and looks like it is in good dondition.

its really up to you on how bad you want the sled
if you like the sled show him the 1200 and tell him to load it in your truck or keep picking him. u drove 2 hrs to go look at it im sure he is aware of.

KBB is $1000 Trade in, $1500 retail. So he's starting near the top. It looks really clean and the E start is a nice bonus. Dont think it was stock but either way you will love it. How did it look in person to you? Do you like it? Cause your the one who has to ride it. I think it sharp and like tom said $1200 is a good price. Can you get him to run a compression test for ya? 5000 on that red head is nothing, thats a 13-14 yr sled which means about 300 - 400 avg miles per yr. IMO not bad from what i can see from pics. CCC

Yamaha's are heavy for sure. My 600xt it like moving a one ton truck stuck in cement! LOL CCC
that 700 is one of the lightest 700 yamaha made. Its going to be heavier because of the electric start.
If you think that thing is heavy, try moving around a SRX or worse a RX-1

it seems like some models and companies keep getting heavier and others are getting lighter, but i suppose there is a market for both.
take a look at cats f-7 somewhere around 475 or less dry weight.. they had nothing but problems with those sleds and their durabilty is crap. the durability of a yamaha is pretty darn good and hard to beat.
yamaha has not done too bad with the weight of their sleds. they always look for ways to shed weight and keep reliabilty and durability up to snuff. yes they came out with the RX-1 ton back in 03 that weighed in at OMG heavy. since then they have came out with lighter weight 4 strokes including the fx nytro, 4 stroke , chassis that is a strong contender in the 600 class and also they came out with a light weight 4 stroke phazer few years ago.
another thing, back in the day, most sleds were either a 340 or 440 or somewhere in between. They weighed practically nothing but there was no suspension and no wheres near the technology, HP and ride comfort we have today on sleds we ride with bigger motor that gets 14 MPG and still runs well over 100 MPH

Be patient, winters still 3 months till ridable snow. Im not saying dont go look at it but make our choice wisley. CCC
i would rather see you drive a very nice clean reliable 500 with no issues then some old beat up sled with dings scratches crap hanging everywhereFF-Tony said:the one for 800 was sold already, VMAX i originally looked at, gonna see if he still has it, might as well check it out and get some pics for you tom and these other guys to look at, who knows maybe it will be a gem amoung the rough, kinda sucky its only a 500 though![]()
nothing wrong with a 500 to start out with. heck i started out my first sled with a 300 enticer.
