Very interesting, might have to take it out for that first ride to see what helix to choose.

Tom- I am gonna need new carbides, what route should I go, not wanting to spend a whole lot, just some good general use ones.

I only recommend Scott Bergstrom's Triple points and his ski saver kit which saves your skis and also resolves darting. IF your going to go out and buy some carbides you might as well get it done right. Everything else is just a plain jane wear bar to be. His ski saver and shim kit is only $15 extra. Give him a call,,, one of the nicest guys in the industry. He will talk to you all day on your questions. Mention to him your on TY for a discount. If you dont fork up the cash for his triple points, AT LEAST pay the $15 for his ski saver kit. He also has other carbides that work ok

Here's info from his website on the triple points.

i do not think he will have to do the jetting on it unless it is out of wack. my 01 was jetted right on according to the plugs and the wash on the pistons.

are those bergstrom triple points supposed to last 3 times longer or be 3 times more aggressive? he tried to talk me into them last time i ordered but i was strapped for cash and didnt pay attention and told him i just want singles..... (that set has 1000 on them and they are still fine, i just bought a new sled and now need some more hahaha)

ps i could read for hours on that bergstrom site (and have) awesome awesome content everyone should read it and take notes thats why bergstrom skegs are offically endorsed by www.vintagevmax.com ;) hehe

i think i will definitly get a set of the ski savers.

tyler- how much was your set of just singles from bergstom?

ok ill give him a call soon as i get a spare minute, is it just one guy who runs this whole show? i found the 'contact us' number, is he the one that will answer?

Yes, he is an old geezer but will make sure he gets you the right carbide for your sled and budget. If you look on his website you will see he has done many tests and comparisons with the competition. that carbides that have segments or wear pads are garbage at best. They only hold up as long as the host bar holds up.

Things he will not sell you if you even if you were his worst enemy.

dually carbides,

segmented or carbides with wear pads

an expensive aftermarket ski that his $15 ski savers will do the same job but much better

so i have a question, with my sled up on a stand, the track engagment is right around 3k RPM, is that to low? (some have said) or is it ok?

You cant test engagment on the stand, must be under load. The stock engagment is 4000 and shifts at 7800. All these specs are in the tech section under stock clutching specs. Its the verly first post. CCC

what seats could i interchange on my sled, cuase i put up a want add for a new one, any single seats that would fit?

a viper one will go on but you will have to replace the tail light. other wise any sxr, srx, v-max, sx, xtc, or mountain max should bolt right on there as long as it is from a pro-action chassis.

are there any shorty style seats that would fit my sled? i dig that look of shorty seats on those long track mountain sleds

you would have to custom fit a rev style seat on there. the ones i listed are all short style seats for that chassis.

The seat looks short because of the tunnel ext. Its the same size as your s on the mtn sled. For a real short one you have to do maim said. CCC
