so the earlier head, lacking the raised portion for the fitting, what would be your take on the possibility of drilling and tapping a thread in that location to install a fitting? or do you have any other easier areas to pick up heated coolant for the carbs. my guess would be not enough material to thread to on the head for a fitting.
I agree with you on tapping the head. I can already see problems arising with that. What about just running it with the valve off? Temps around here arent too extreme...
you should be good to go with the valve off as long as there are no leaks anywhere. apppears as though thats the way its been running.
