Is it easy to replace the bearing housing on the secondary shaft on my 2003 Viper? I noticed the other day that the outside housing suporting the bearing is cracked and would like to know how easy it is to install?

should be 3 carriage bolts and the housing comes apart. If i remember correctly.
Easy to do. Take it apart and put it back together just how it came apart.
 
If you dont solve this by Friday, Ill take a picture of mine. Im sure its still apart... Unless my dad felt like assembling my sled while i was at college which i doubt! :)
 
Not on the tunnel. secondary clutch shaft bearing cover plate. looks pretty simple just want to make sure before I do it.

The secondary sheve bearing is a little more complicated than ,"Take it apart and put it back together"! First of all, you take the chaincase apart,remove it completely,remove your airbox. remove the 3 bolts holding your bearing in place. Then take your shaft out unscrew your hex key set screws,remove bearing ,replace bearing at same position bearing was removed. Then reinstall shaft first, then chaincase. Hope this is satisfactory!
 
I think he referring to the glass bushing in the clutch cover. I have never replaced one but believe its pressed in.
 
The bushings in the secondary clutch are easy to remove and replace.You will need a tool to press out/in the bushings and either a hydraulic press or an arbor press. Any automotive shop could cahnge the bushings quickly. The bset bushings to replace the OEM units are made bu Allen Ullmer, SRXSPEC on this site. He makes his replacement bushings using oil-lite bushing material. Oil-lite is a pressed bronze powder which is porous, the pores are filled with oil. Allen's bushings cost about $12 each.
 
Are the stock clutch cover bushings made of fiberglass? Maybe some other material that looks like fiberglass.
