What is the function of the tube or "handle" as I call it, on the sx mufflers. They come out of the top and go nowhere.

a handle....

It's called a quarter wave tube and is used as a noise cancelling and sound tuning device. Not a handle, BUT, could be used for one LOL!

Has anyone removed this "noise canceling device"? I could use a little bit more noise.

bore out the baffles or cut it open with a zip wheel cut out the baffles and weld the cover back on. No tickets sounds a little throaty like a truck with dual exhaust almost. I did my own, I'm not to far away if you want it done let me know.

Well I was curious so I went and cut my "handle" off and welded a cap on it. I will post a vid after the weekend when I fire it up.

So Dave...I looked on the H/S football schedule the other day, and it looks like it's Durand at Polo on 24 Sept.
