As you can see from my join date I have been looking for a clean, low mileage, stock SRX. I never ended up finding anything reasonably priced last year so I picked up the search again about a month ago. I found this one on Craigslist. REALLY clean, totally stock and VERY well cared for. As you can see from the PV's they needed very little cleaning but that was the first thing I did. I will clean the carbs tomorrow after I read in the tech section how to get them off. :letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow

I would say you stole that for 2000, if those powervalves were already that clean, someone took care of it....enjoy that sled! ;)!

u need any help or questions just call me and i will go over it in detail on how to help. pete 616-822-0606. srxs foreverer. :2strokes:

tomorrow I want to take the carbs off and clean those- - do I take the airbox off first then the whole carb rack? I looked in the tech section and didnt see anything except on the actual cleaning

better spray some wd-40 or penetrating oil on the screw that hold the boots on the carbs as they tend to strip if you don't have the right screwdriver LOL

very nice sled congrads power valves look to be in good condition did you remove them from the cable to look for sighs of pull thru ?

No- I pulled them out and the cable was attached to the valve so I figured all was good- what should I look for?

just remove the other 2 allen head bolts on the top each of your power valves where your fingers are in your picture above, pull it apart and check the cable end and the slot at the top of the valve. just make sure the cables are in good shape and that the end of the cables haven't pulled thru or made the end of the valve so thin it might be about to pull thru. when you open it you will know what we are referring too.

everytime i ressemble that area i always add a little grease in the slot to help lubricate the end of the cable, but that is just me, not sure if it helps but it doesn't hurt anything ;)!
