I had a 99 sx 700 and loved it-sold it 2 get a new sled for myself but now my wife wants to try riding and bought a 2000 sx700 r. I was curious on the changes in teh 2 models-seemed like better suspension? The sled is well cared for 2500 miles $2000 -Thanks!

same engine, just long travel suspension on the sxr. I also believe the handlebars are 1 inch wider. She should enjoy it, they are good sleds.
OK-Thanks! I thought it had more travel than my 99. I always liked these sleds and they seem like one of the best bangs for the buck now days in the used market. $2000 for a good clean low mile sled that has a proven track record of reliablity how can you pass these sleds up. There is lots of info on this site-used it back when I had my 99 now back again.

She is used to street bikes has a Kawi ZZR600 and had a SV650
They are plenty fast sleds especially when dialed in right. Who knows she may really enjoy and want an Apex?????

The primary clutching is all different on the sx-r but can be dialed in for less then $100.
