Help power valve repair Srx 700

So I'm in a jam... I go in the grass on Sunday so lastnight I pull the power valves and I have a pull through. On #1.. I'm about to overnight one from a dealership but before I do maybe I could repair this one ...
Anyone know what the power valves are made of maybe I could tig weld some material back on and redrill/ machine the slot!?

Any advice / input would be greatly appreciated I have to do something asap
 
get ahold of Rich a.k.a Mr. Powervalve!!! he is YA*AM*A*HEAD on here......

you should be able to find him in any of the active threads, great guy willing to help most anyone!!!

as far as I hear he can make them work better than new!!!
 
the powervalves are made from aluminum, then hard anodized. Yes, you can tig weld the end up, machine it and redrill/slot it, have done it for years like that. I also have done them the same way the guy who fixes them on here does,machine off the end, drill and tap the valve. thread in a stainless bolt and turn head of bolt down in a lathe,drill and slot and they never pull thru again.
 
so i did get it fixed that night i ended up going back to the shop and just welding it up, i was in such a rush i did forget a before shot but it was completely pulled through...
heres a couple shots of it during and after...

i wonder how the aluminum holds up without the hard coating.. im gonna be honest i dont forsee a problem with it if i keep them clean... now i just have to figure out how to adjust them asap
i used a wire brush/brass wire wheel and they looked like brand new
