Hi,
I have a 500cc SXR twin. And i want to upgrade it to a 600cc..
Do the 600cc have the same stroke?
So its just to take cyl/head/pistons from the 600 and bolt on to my 500?
Also, if someone has a pair of 600 cyl + head. I'm interested.
Clutching is a later question ;D
Thanks Rasmus

you will need, carbs, wire harness, head, cylinders, pistons, clutching and gears.
for all the work, updating to a tripple would be a better move, more parts but they last longer and are better on fuel

Carbs? They have the same specs?! Mikuni TM36x2. Re-jet maybe.
How come I need a new harness?!
Gears and clutching I would prob have in the garage aswell.
But I'm restoring a SXR 500 '01, that I'm gonna have as a spare sled or just sell it!
So I want to stick with the twin. I know the benfits of the tripple, but not for this project!
The motor just need overhaulin, so its just as cheap to upgrade it to a 600.
Cyl, head and piston is like 250$ and then I can sell the left over parts from mine for like 150-200$
The SXR600 twin is VERY rare in Sweden.
Should be able to just swap the top ends. Case/stroke are the same, cylinders will slide right on. If you say the carbs are the same then a rejet should cover that. As for the CDI, I don't believe that there is anything different. Timing program might me a little different, but probably not enough to make a difference. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same part though.
