Guys is There any way physically to tell the difference between an 01 sxr 600 or 700...besides the tag on the motors head or the decal on the side. I found an sxr700 and asked the guy to send
E some pics of the motor. On the head it clearly shows this to be a 5
600 not 700. The guy says it was to kinda keep his wife off his tail. Not sure what the story is. It's a low mileage sxr(2k). Was just looking for a tell tale sign that it is truly a 700. Thanks joe

get a close up of the cylinder marking. 600 would have 8DG 593x3, 700 would have 8CH 698x3. that would be the easiest short of pulling the head and measuring bores.

There is numbers on the side if the cyl that indicates whether it's a 600 or a 700 not 100% sure what those numbers are though.
That's the info I needs thanks snowdad. Just for clarification is that located on the front or side of the actual cylinder ?

its on the side. on that motor it will be clearly visible on the pto(clutch)side. about 1" below the bottom of the head.
