Hello all, just bought a 2000 SX600r sled. While checking it out, noticed that the coolant line off of the heated carb, exhaust side, is missing. Coolant is just leaking out of the carb. Problem I am having is that I can not find were the coolant line off of the carb is supposed to plug into. Can anybody help me with this?

The water pump on the front of the engine is under the exhaust ports there is a nipple on top of the cover where the larger hose goes into.

Heated carb coolant line
ah oh...I see that one, and it is there...There is a nipple just above that one on the carb, it points downward...What is that?? What is it supposed to be hooked up to??
It is the little gold nipple right in the center of the picture, just below the yellow wire...
(Just added better pic)

i cant really tell from your picture, but if there is a brass nipple pointing downward on that end of the carb, thats where the coolant line attaches. it should have a flare on it. make sure the hose on the other side of carbs is attached as well.

small diameter coolant line goes from the nipple of the carb mag side all the way down to the pump cover small nipple.Someone forgot to attach it or it detached on it's own. There should be a large puddle of antifreeze if this is the case when motor is running.Didn't you run the motor before you purchashed the sled????

Of course I ran the motor...You can see right where it is leaking from...Price was right....Didn't think it would be an issue until I couldn't figure out where this darn thing hooks up to. There is a lower hose right under the nipple missing a hose which connects to the one on the water pump. I'm assuming that that hose is hooed up correctly. Motor was rebuilt two years ago but doesn't have any miles on it yet, so this missing hose could've been an oversight or something.

The coolant line is the brass nipple that's leaking coolant. what your coolant hose is hooked up to now is a vent line for the carb bowl. My carbs are on the bench right now so I went and took a look. Pull the coolant line off of where it is, if it's gray colors and not brass then nothing gets hooked up to it, it's just a blank, if it's a smaller brass nipple then a vent line goes there. One picture has the coolant line attached, the other I took it off to show the nipple.
