boss seat pics please!!!!

I remember hearing something about a tow strap but I have always carried one so if they would have included one it would have just sat in my cabinet in the garage. Plus a $10 strap will not sweetin the deal into buying a $400 seat IMO. I buy the seat for the for the comfort and features....not the tow strap. :-)

I have never used the Boss straps, but they are nice to have available. Amazing how Velcro can hold up to that much pressure. I started on the seat install, with new custom tail light. I am trying to utilize the Original Viper dual light. I think it will look cool and be extreamly functional. Oh the Viper is extended to 136 skid. I had to start polishing the tunnel due to the scratches from the original seat. Al

Ya-- I figured it would be a good opportunity to polish the tunnel when I take the old seat off.... Does it look like the Viper tailight will work out ok? I'm wondering if it would work on my 121". I saw a pretty cool LED from Bluhm that I might try.

not a good shot of the sled, but you can see the seat.

Boss seat installed tonight. Note the OEM Viper tail light assy. On My SXR I used a LED tail light. Let me what you think of the install. Total cost for Tail light mount was $6.50 I still have to install the snow flap. At the same time of seat install I upgraded to a rear heat exchanger. This is my 17 year old son's sled. Al

is that tailight bolted through the fabric of the seat? its hard to see that $6.50 bracket.
that seat looks really nice, comfy too!!!

The bracket I bought from Napa, it is a standard bracket for an oval push in tail light. I manufactured a plastic backer plate to bolt the light to. Basically the bracket and platic plate are located in the back storage bag. All of the wiring is totally concieled with in the back storage area, If needed you just unzip and there it is. This light will work only on an extended tunnel. On our standard track sleds I used the same bracket but with an LED standard push in tail light. That was easier to install due to not having to make a backer plate. The seat looks good and feels correct. Exactly the way it feels on the SXR. Now we have 3 sleds with Boss seats.

Thanks for the pics alswagg-- looks great..... I'm looking at doing the same thing with a different light, a clear LED with 12 red bulbs, but it's a little more than 6" long. Do you think a 6" light will fit on that back pouch? Here's the link to the light I want to use... it's the 8th item down (euro clear): http://www.bluhmenterprises.com/products/moto-brite-lites.php?pn_category_id=87

My seat should be here Tuesday ;)!

once i pull out the SXR i will take a photo of that tail light. Note I also bolted the seat down. The OEM studs will have to be removed, where the plate was riveted on is where I relocted the mounting studs. I used a hot awl for melting the new hole in the fabric.

Seat Fit Question

Maybe BigAl or someone can answer this...

Seat came today, placed it on the sled and it seems a little short on reach to the gas tank. When I hook the gas tank loop of the seat around the neck of the tank, it's really tight and there is like a 2-3" gap from the bottom of the seat to the top of the tank. It seems "off" to me. Was expecting maybe more of a tailored fit?

Is this normal? :dunno:

Ya, I noticed the same thing when I dry-fit mine the other day... looked like the seat needed to be shoved forward a couple inches but didn't want to go. No info in the instructions regarding this either, but then again- I haven't really messed with it yet.

That is pretty much the way it fits. The contour is not exactly correct. I have a 1" gap, from seat edge to gas tank flange. Al

my seat is scheduled to be delivered tuesday as well! i plan on mounting my 4" clear lense LED. i had bought the kit with bracket, rivets, etc... but wish i had waited to see what the max length that back pocket will allow. i am just going to heat up a nail a make my holes with that, should work perfect, just hope 4" LED will be big enough
