Coolant Temp Gauge Install

looks like the only ones I can find come from Hong Kong and they are like $10 plus $5 shipping.Pretty cheap .Probably 3 week delivery.
If you get it at all,I've always been leery of buying anything listed as being shipped from Hong Kong.

I ran a Cyberdyne from Jegs, on my old Summit.....This was the one....http://www.jegs.com/i/Cyberdyne/280/A000E350N/10002/-1 It starts reading at 70 degrees, and worked great while I had the sled....You can get different colors and memory options, I figured I'd link the blue one, since it goes with the Yammy colors.... I really liked it, and if I felt the need to put one on my sled, I'd definitely do it again.

i recently installed the same gauge setup on my sxr700...looks identical. good work. i was able to purchase all the stuff on ebay for under 40$cdn shipped. my question is:
what is the standard operating temp for a snowmobile? i ran mine for nearly 15mins and it barely touched 50 deg C.

Yah mine barely registered when just idling but i wanted it for running in low snow conditions just to ensure it didn't overheat. Most of the time the needle will be close to the bottom though.

Just an update on this gauge, it seems to be working very well. I found that my sled actually never warmed up riding around the yard, but once on the trail it would read between 150 to 180. Also when the snow was hard or running on a road it would creep up past 200, that's when I knew it was time to get into the snow.

Just thought I would give another update on this gauge. It seems to have stopped working mostly because the temp sensor is broken. I had it mounted in the water rail on my srx and the vibrations might have caused it to break :dunno:.

The one on my buddies XT is also not working, it is reading much higher than it should be, could be a problem with the sender again.

The reason I got this one in the first place was because I was sure if it would even work and it was cheap, now that I know it does I have ordered a nicer one: New Gauge
