Was told that a Viper skid was a 100% direct bolt up to my 97 SX7. Any truth in that and are there any others.

Long travle skid from vipers xtc vmax dlx sxr Any of them are long travle. The vmax dlx will not have rebuildable shocks all the others will. Your best bet would be to just look for the shocks off any of these sleds. Save some cash but you might want the extra w are as these are notorious for breaking.

Will I be able to keep the Yamaha Quick Rods w/ viper shocks ?

you can use the quick rod but like super1c was saying you will need to get a longer shaft. how much are you planning on spending on your skid?
